About Priority Health Family Medicine

Sheryl Miller - Business Manager

Sheryl graduated from Robert Morris in 1985 with an Associate Degree in medical assisting.  She has been in the medical field for 38 years.  She has been an office manager for 28 years.

Dr. Miller graduated from Maroa-Forsyth High School in 1985.  He attended Millikin University and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1989.  He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine Champaign-Urbana in 1993.  He graduated from SIU Decatur Family Medicine Residency in 1996.  He has been practicing family medicine in Decatur, Maroa and Forsyth over the past 28 years.  Dr. Miller emphasizes wellness and preventative health, and performs in-office no-scalpel vasectomies.

Dr. Newcome was born and raised in the Decatur area, and graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1991.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Illinois Wesleyan University in 1995, and completed her doctorate at SIU School of Medicine in 1999.  She graduated from SIU Decatur Family Practice Residency in 2002, and has practiced in Decatur and Forsyth for 22 years.

Dr. Newcome enjoys all aspects of family medicine, but has a special interest in women's health and pediatrics.

Dr. Timothy A. Miller and Dr. Kristin Newcome chose to become family medicine physicians because they had the desire to develop personal relationships with their patients.  They are concerned that the current health care system, and the changes to come, have and will continue to become an obstacle to the care they wish to provide to their patients.  Therefore, they have decided to join a rapidly growing movement to put their patients at a priority.

Priority Health Family Medicine operates on an annual membership so that you, the patient, can have unlimited access to your personal primary care physician.  Membership covers the cost of office visits, eliminating the need for co-pays.

This allows patients to focus on their health needs, not worry about the cost of each visit.

By purposefully limiting the number of patients enrolled in the practice, Dr. Miller and Dr. Newcome can provide the health care you need in an unhurried atmosphere.  This allows timely scheduling and 24 hour access at a reasonable cost.
